Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

• Email address
• Name, if you provide one
• Authentication credentials via Firebase Authentication
• A unique user identifier
• Username
• Purchase history (which decks you have bought; payments are handled by Apple or Google)

Usage Information

We collect data necessary to provide the learning experience, including:

• Quiz progress and scores
• Streak data
• Achievements, badges, and crowns
• Deck and flashcard completion data
• In-app activity and session data

Device and Technical Information

• Device type and model
• Operating system version
• App version
• Crash and diagnostic data

Support Communications

If you contact us through the in-app feedback form or by email, we collect the information you provide.

2 Legal Basis for Processing (EU Users)

If you are located in the European Union, we process your data under the following legal bases:

• Performance of a contract: To provide the FlashFox app and its features
• Legitimate interests: To improve app functionality, security, and user experience
• Consent: Where required by applicable law, including for analytics

3 How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Track learning progress, achievements, and progression
• Provide personalised app functionality

• Understand how the app is used, using Firebase Analytics

4 Data Storage and Third-Party Services

FlashFox uses trusted third-party service providers to operate the app, including:

• Google Firebase: authentication, database, hosting, analytics, crash reporting
• Apple App Store and Google Play: payment processing for in-app purchases
• RevenueCat: subscription and purchase management

Data may be stored on secure servers located outside New Zealand or the European Union, including in the United States. Where applicable, appropriate safeguards are used.

5 Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no internet-based system is completely secure.

6 Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account at any time by:

• Using our account deletion request page
• Using the Delete Account option in the app's Settings, or
• Contacting us at support@flashfox.io

Upon verified request, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, unless we are legally required to retain certain information. Support messages and purchase records held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat are not deleted with your account.

7 Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access your personal data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent where applicable
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (New Zealand: Office of the Privacy Commissioner: privacy.org.nz)

8 Children's Privacy

FlashFox is intended for users aged 13 and over. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@flashfox.io.

9 International Users

If you access FlashFox from outside New Zealand, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries where our service providers operate. By using FlashFox, you consent to such transfers.

10 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at flashfox.io/privacy.html. The Effective Date will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the app following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
